The shadow fold encompasses unnatural darkness and deadly cannibalistic creatures. He believes Alina’s power can summon a force capable of destroying the shadow fold. Which would mean peace for the war-ravaged Ravaka.The royalty and warmth of Grisha, don’t seem to comfort Alina.
Alina has been restless throughout her training. She doesn’t know if Mal, the only person who can comfort her, is even alive. She begins to understand small science, but is far from mastering her feral power. Even the Darkling isn’t strong enough to destroy the fold, let alone wound it. Without an amplifier, Alina can’t destroy the fold. Only if she could get the Morozova’s stag, the world’s strongest amplifier.
Shadow and Bone is thrilling and magical. I really like how the author has made me change my opinion about each of these well developed characters, multiple times. And I love how the book personifies darkness as though a living and disturbed soul. The plot is fascinating and inquisitive. The Trilogy is bygone, but the beliefs and social norms are futuristic.
Every chapter depicts a mixture of emotions, most of which are a part of our daily life. I could re-read this a million times. This is the GrishaVerse. A country on the edge of destruction, a magical community and it’s notorious leader, And The sun summoner, all writing their own destiny.
